I am a cold-weather girl through and through. Spending the last weekend of 2018 in Kansas City with the crisp Midwest air, quality time with a few of my fave gal pals, and lots of coffee, was refreshing to say the least.

One of my favorite highlights from the weekend was stopping by Messenger Coffee Co. to grab a latte and check out the super cool three-story coffee shop + rooftop.

Even though it was 20-something degrees outside, I could have hung out on Messenger’s rooftop all day. Warmth creds are all due to the WHISTLES parka of my dreams I scored earlier in 2018 while thrifting in NYC.

The military green color, thick shearling lining, and mechanical details fulfill everything I could have asked for in a winter coat.

And it is cozy as heCK.

Because my coat was so warm, I was able to get away with wearing this pair of super distressed jeans.

Although, I did add a little more warmth by throwing these patterned tights on underneath. They add the slightest feminine touch to the overall tough aesthetic.

I ❤ details.

And of course, no cold-weather outfit is complete without my winter-white Docs.

One of my favorite ways of styling boots this season is to wear my pants over them– no cuffing necessary! (s/o to my fellow shorties)

This quick weekend trip to KC was the perfect way to wrap up 2018.

This was my face knowing we were about to stop and get a third coffee for the day (don’t @ me).

Cheers to 2019, new outfit possibilities, and all of the coffee we will drink.
